Worldwide Packaging, located in Florham Park, NJ, has expanded its cosmetic packaging options for color cosmetics manufacturers. The company has rolled out unusual ideas for mass marketers, and several more are being readied for launch over the next few months. For example, the company now offers a variety of eyeshadow containers in clear covers, half windows and no windows. These compacts can also include full mirrors and special finishes.

The company also launched an oval one-piece tube. Suited for liquid makeup and liquid lipstick, the oval tube is easy to hold and with the one-piece construction, the user cannot lose the cap.

“We’re trying to develop new ways of applying cosmetics,” noted Bob Reinhardt, executive vice president, sales.

The company is also developing smaller compacts with many drawers to hold an array of cosmetics. During the next few months, Worldwide Packaging’s ideas will debut in several lines. “Consumers want convenient compacts that hold many products, without being too big to carry,” observed Reinhardt. Rigid Films for Blisters and Clamshells

The Pentaform line of custom formulated thermoforming films, from Klöckner Pentaplast of America, Gordonsville, VA, has been extended to include the new Easy Form high-performance Pentaform rigid vinyl films for face-seal blister and clamshell packaging applications. The films allow for a broader, more forgiving temperature range during the thermoforming process. Pentaform Easy Form vinyl films are well suited for use in pilfer-proof, high visibility, and RFID capable packaging, as well as a broad spectrum of products that require blister pack, clamshell, two-part clamshells, club packs, and tray applications.

Pentaform films have enhanced material flow and distribution in the formed part as compared to traditional thermoforming films. This allows for more efficient material flow, making sidewalls thicker around the formed part. The films allow customers to transition between short and long runs faster by reducing the number of poorly formed parts. Easy Form films also provide down gauge potential.
